Why I Think Lip Stain is Great

I love all things vintage. Some of my favorite looks originate from the 20s, 30s, and 40s. However, waking up and knowing I have to go to school in the morning sucks all ambition out of me and my "look" is usually yoga pants and a t-shirt-- maybe jeans on a good day. But on days when I have the strength to roll out of bed prior to 6:40 I sometimes like to accentuate whatever outfit I'm wearing (as long as it allows red) with a little lipstain. A bright rouged lip is a beauty technique that has been around for ages and isn't going anywhere. It brings an air of class and sophistication to an outfit and in my experience going to school with a crimson lipstain serves as a confidence boost. Its a thing that many girls are afraid to try because the color is too bold or they don't want to mess up when applying it, but if you can find the right red for your skin tone it really looks good on anyone. I'd reccomend Revlon Just Bitten or Maybelline Color Sensational. If you've never tried it before maybe start with a nude color and try red sometime on the weekend if you aren't going anywhere and have time to experiment and wash it off. Lip stains usually come in a magic marker like applicator where you basically just color in your lips. Lip stain will give you a matte finish but if you want something a little more shiny without looking like lipstick or globby sticky lipgloss then add a layer of lip balm over the top and you're set <3
