The Academy Awards

So as many of us know-- or will tomorrow when people are talking about it-- tonight was the Academy Awards. While I'm not one of those people that watches every award show or sees every nominated movie I do enjoy watching and tonight I watched the latter half of the show and was very inspired. Many brilliant people were awarded and there were a couple tributes to those involved in the movie industry that have passed . For some reason I was particularly moved by the Oscar's this year though. It made me happy to watch as numerous beautiful, creative, innovative, and eccentric people got up on a stage and were celebrated for their hard work. It was inspiring to think that maybe there was a time for people like them when others saw their ambitions as silly or impractical and they went on to be famous actors or actresses in Hollywood, or acclaimed directors. Watching these awards tonight gave me further hope that even professions that may seem unreasonable or not secure like acting, singing, or art can workout too.
